Speaker Introduction: Dr. Hu Xiaojiang, Professor in School of Social Development and Public Policy, PhD of Sociology from Harward University.

Introduction: As judge in National Social Science Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation, Beijing Natural Science Foundation, as well as Foundation of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Hu Xiaojiang introduces the key points in academic fund application. The most important part of an application is the subject, which can directly influence the success rate. The members involving in the project should be reasonable -- not only should include relatively well-known experts in the certain field, lecturers and students who have enough time and energy doing researches are also very important. At meanwhile, there's the necessity to invite scholars from other institutes to increase the diversity of the project. Besides, preliminary research which reflects the feasibility of the project is also inevitable. Other key points in application include: coming to the point directly, stressing the focal point and emphasizing the realistic meaning of the research subject.
